Texas Hair Twisters

Here is one of my early Twisters
Texas Twisters have been a labor of love from day one. I love doing metal work and I wanted to combine my love of hair and my love of creating lovely pieces together. So I did and I came up with my Texas Hair Twisters. I have been making these for almost 4 years, I have been making hair sticks and beaded hair jewelry for almost as long.

My hair shelots are my most resent design. I have been selling my jewelry off line and on for more years than that. I started selling my work back in 2000.
I love designing unique pieces that are products of my own paradigm. Because of this, they are each one of a kind creations.

Even when I use materials or findings that others have, I put my own soul into my work, and that makes it different from what anyone else would create from those same materials.

I am working to create more of the beads and findings that I use so that my work is even more unique and original.

I am a product of where I have been and the sum of my experiences all of this comes out in my jewelry.

I love Greek myths and legends and Shakespeare, that also comes out in my work, as well as my love of Archaeology.

This makes all of my work have a slightly classical feel to them. At least that is my take on things. I also love shiny shiny things and that also comes out in my art. :)
These are some of my Texas Twisters in my hair.
I created my hair twisters to put your hair up just like a screw. You make a bun and then holding the bun in one hand and the twister between two fingers of the opposite hand, start with a turning spinning motion you screw the twister into the bun. Then you switch the hand that you were holding the bun with and with the now free hand take the second twister and take and with a twisting motion insert the second twister into the bun. If the twisters have been positioned correctly the bun should keep in place like a rock. However, some very large buns of either thick or very long hair you might need additional twisters. However since twisters are light weight and cute and fun they can be fun to create designs in your hair.
